ETRIC LYONS-Bandleader; Electric & Acoustic Bass, Loops & Samples
Lyons has worked with, among many others: Remy Shand, Jesse Cook, Esthero, The Eddie Bullen Project, David Deacon and the Word, Philip Sayce, De Orchestra (Brazilian), Colin James, David Wilcox, Alfie Zappacosta, Billy Newton Davis (of the Nylons), Liberty Silver and Molly Johnson. Kush has been heavily influenced by Lyons’ experiences playing jazz in Hong Kong, where he feels technology is 5-7 years ahead of where it is in North America and he found fertile inspirational ground for synergizing instrumentation with technology. His musical ideas have also been profoundly shaped by his other artistic passion-photography-which is evident by the sweeping abstract vision expressed through Kush’s multi-media stage presence.
BRYDEN BAIRD-Trumpet, FX
Bryden has recorded and/or toured with Fiest, One Step Beyond, Merl Saunders, Kevin Quain and the Mad Bastards, Johnny Favourite, Nojo, Sean Lennon, Sloan, Esthero, Kathryn Rose, Michael Buble, Gord Downie, Blue Rodeo, Sarah Slean and Kush. Also an engineer and producer, he focuses on Toronto’s jazz and pop talent in the studio.
A renowned performer, songwriter, arranger and Juno award winning producer, Eddie is a standout amongst Toronto’s incredible wealth of Caribbean-born jazz musicians. Bullen’s career started in 1971 and has yielded an abundance of recordings, awards and critical acclaim.
